Growing up in the Netherlands, it was impossible not to know Nijntje. Created by Dick Bruna in Utrecht, the character became an iconic part of Dutch culture.
At the same time, this piece represents Utrecht itself — a city that slowly started feeling like home to me.
And for the little sneakerheads, I recreated Nijntje wearing the legendary AM1 Curry and classic Vans.
